Charlotte Kool : "I knew you had to go into the corner first and I messed that up"

Charlotte Kool has delivered a steady performance in the Giro d'Italia Donne. But she has yet to win a stage. Kool again narrowly missed a stage victory in the Giro d'Italia Donne. She finished second behind stage winner Elisa Balsamo.
"Today the team did a great job. We had a clear plan and I think that helped all the girls to go for it. They all had a lot of confidence in me. In the final we had a clear plan for the last corner, and Franzi and Megan rode perfectly towards this corner," said Kool.
She made a mistake in the fifth stage's last corner, which allowed Elisa Balsamo to sprint ahead of her. "I made a big mistake by cutting the last corner too wide; that's where I lost it. I still rode a strong sprint, but I knew you had to go into the corner first, and I messed that up. We can be proud of the team performance today, " Kool said. She currently holds the 106th position in GC, 29 minutes and 1 second behind overall leader Annemiek van Vleuten.

- I don’t call the writers here journalists, they are at best paid posters, no more knowledgable than many of us. I certainly don’t agree with everything they say or portray but I do understand they have to provoke to make their hitherto business model sustainable. And as it isn’t possible to discuss with them, it’s more interesting, rewarding and instructive to pick points to discuss with people willing to engage. I choose and have my own reasons for positive of negative opinions on riders and engage when someone disagrees on those, not interested in engaging on other reasons. What I agree with or don’t is pretty irrelevant though, I think you’ll agree JV gets his fair share of lifestyle criticism (also here) so why should TP be exempt?
