Vincenzo Nibali is currently in Zurich for the official launch of Douglas Ryder's Q36.5 team, where he functions in a consultative capacity, utilizing his wealth of experience and knowledge to aid the team in their endeavors.
He discussed his post-retirement life and his choice to continue being a part of the cycling community.“After meeting Luigi Bergamo, I was impressed. It's a new project, but we have a horizon of at least five to six years,” he told La Gazzetta dello Sport.
He further praised the entrepreneur, “I was impressed. He came across as someone with clear ideas and a belief in his business and in cycling.”
Despite not currently having any standout riders on the team, Nibali is working to recruit some from other teams. In the meantime, he will have to rely on Matteo Moschetti. “He is a fast boy who can become very important in our first year. We also talked to Cees Bol, but he decided to follow Mark Cavendish to Astana. We also hope for invitations to great competitions in our first season,” concluded Nibali.
