Caleb Ewan has only ridden one monument in his career and that is Milano-Sanremo, where he has already finished second on two occasions. In 2023, he will be trying to break that barrier and finally snatch a career-changing win.
Despite being relegated to ProTeam level, Lotto Soudal - to be named Lotto-Dstny next year - has received automatic wildcards to all World Tour events in the coming season because of the points scored this year - much because of Arnaud De Lie. As riders leave their first team training camps of the season, some goals have become clear in the Belgian team.
Ewan will be aiming for the win in the Italian monument, and he will be joined by De Lie, who has performed incredibly in his neo-pro season and expectations are very high. Although he will not be racing a Grand Tour this coming season, the 20-year old will be racing his first monuments and besides Sanremo, he is also locked into Paris-Roubaix
"We know within the team that Paris-Roubaix has been keeping Arnaud awake for several years. He's always very motivated," team manager Kurt van de Wouwer told Sporza. As the team begin their three-year battle to regain their spot in the World Tour, it has already decided to skip several big races such as the Giro d'Italia.
