BORA - hansgrohe bet on a sprint as Sam Bennett leads Milano-Sanremo team

BORA - hansgrohe had Max Schachmann and Bob Jungels lined up for Milano-Sanremo originally but both have fallen ill following Paris-Nice. The team now focuses on a sprinter approach, with Sam Bennett the designated leader.
It won't surely be a sole leadership as Bennett has only once (Paris-Tours) shown his best climbing form since joining the German team. Sanremo being a race that has in the past been conquered by sprinters however, he will have an opportunity. Danny van Poppel and BEMER Cyclassics winner Marco Haller will also be options for a hilly race, albeit modest outsiders who will also be lookin for a sprint.

BORA will hence be fully focused on a conservative race, riding the wheels and hoping for a not so furious pace up the climbs. Nils Politt and Ryan Mullen will be providing more support when it comes to positioning in the early climbs whilst Cesare Benedetti completes the lineup.

- MSR no competition? From the Cipressa onward, that was the most amazing MSR finish I've ever watched! Same with Paris-Roubaix, which together with Flanders had the racing start much, much earlier than before. - He and Pogacar both have taken insane risks on descents, particularly in time trials. I have to imagine most cycling fans would be happy to see them back off a bit.
