Bardet, in his prime, has finished on the podium of races such as the World Championships, Liège-Bastogne-Liège and Strade Bianche. The Frenchman has has a strong season with
Team DSM this year, winning the Tour of the Alps and finishing sixth at the Tour de France. He was in the fight for the podium at the Giro d'Italia until he had to abandon in the second week with illness. The team is also set to include Dane
Soren Kragh Andersen, although he's recently been said to miss out on the World Championships due to a saddle sore.
