"He can at least trust us now" - Visma responds to Pogacar's comments of underhanded tactics with fair play gesture

Calm before the storm that should be the first big mountain stage on Thursday, stage 11 of Tour de France was a black box in terms of predicting any development, but ultimately came to a stalemate with race favourite Tadej Pogacar crashing in last kilometers, the peloton came to a halt under the command of Visma | Lease a Bike and Remco Evenepoel.
When the world champion went down, there was some confusion in peloton as to why is the race being neutralized. "I heard a crash," Visma co-leader Matteo Jorgenson told NOS afterward. "It happened right behind me, I think. Afterward, we decided to wait, which was a sportsmanship decision."
The seventh stage of Tour de France created extra tension between the Slovenian and Visma after cameras caught an incident occur between Pogacar and Jorgenson in a feeding zone. Following the stage, Pogacar made comments about underhanded tactics of the Dutch team trying to find a way to overthrow the defending champion of Tour.
Jorgenson believes those feelings will have mellowed down after a fair play gesture from peloton when Pogacar hit the deck. "After last week's accusations of unsportsmanlike conduct, he can now at least trust that we want to beat him in a sporting manner. I'd never seen those accusations against him before."
