The Tour de France is the biggest and most well-known cycling race on the entire calendar. As such, many big names from other fields show a keen interest in the battle for Maillot Jaune. On stage 15, legendary football manager Arsene Wenger will be in the car of Christian Prudhomme.
Speaking to GCN Racing prior to the start of the day, the three-time Premier League-winning former Arsenal boss revealed the love affair the nation of France and the French people have with the Grand Tour. "I love cycling. In France, everybody grows up with the Tour de France," says Wenger. "I'm here because I'm friends with Christian Prudhomme and watch it from inside. It's a bit like going into the dressing room of a football team. It's very exciting for me."
The 73-year-old has also been keeping a close eye on this year's edition of the race as Tadej Pogacar and Jonas Vingegaard have locked horns in one of the most entertaining battles in recent memory.
"It's a battle between two exceptional champions. Everybody has the same thinking at the moment, 'who will be the one in the end to win it.' At some stage someone has to make the difference, that's what everyone is excited about."
