Ashleigh Moolman has won the second stage of the Tour de Romandie Feminin. She overcame the harsh climb of Thyon and crossed the finish line first to secure the victory.
The breakaway included Elise Uijen (Team DSM) and Georgia Williams (Team BikeExchange - Jayco). The duo took a lead of 1 minute and 15 seconds. The duo was caught by the breakaway 38 kilometres before the finish line.
With 20 kilometres to go, Marlen Reusser, Arlenis Sierra, and Soraya Paladin launched an attack and managed to take a lead of over a minute. The peloton came together in the final six kilometres. In the end, it was Ashleigh Moolman who took the stage victory. Annemiek van Vleuten gave a tough competition to Moolman but she only managed to take the silver. Elisa Longo Borghini finished third.
