After retiring from pro cycling, Greg van Avermaet wins debut triathlon

Greg van Avermaet was one of the best cyclists in modern times and his genetic capacity to perform in endurance sports is clear. The Belgian has just retired from pro cycling, and on his first triathlon race he immediately took the win.

The 38-year old didn't come without training, however it is nevertheless impressive the short amount of time it took the AG2R Citroën Team rider to get used to the new sport - which also involves running and swimming. In the SGRAIL100, a race with 1.5 kilometers of swimming, 92 of cycling and 10 of running, the Belgian was the fastest in Girona. He shared the feat on social media, in what may be a new interest for 'Golden Greg'.
