David Steegen, former Communications Manager at football club RSC Anderlecht, will be the personal press spokesperson for Remco Evenepoel, who used kick the ball for the the team from Brussels before his transition to cycling. This will further professionalise the framework surrounding the Belgian road champion and world time trial champion.
Since 2022, Steegen moved over to sharing his know-how with slightly smaller subjects. In that capacity, he will now officially start working as Remco Evenepoel's personal press attaché, a role he has more or less taken on behind the scenes for some time. Steegen will take care of the non-sporting media requests around Evenepoel. Everything directly related to races and press conferences and interviews will continue through the press service of his team Soudal - Quick-Step.
Evenepoel himself is very pleased to welcome David Steegen to his personal entourage. "I want to be able to fully concentrate on my sporting performance and achieving my personal sporting goals. That is why David will assist me in managing the media requests," an official statement said.
