Pauline Ferrand-Prévot will bid farewell to mountain bikes at the World Championships next week

Pauline Ferrand-Prévot has achieved everything there was to achieve in the mountain bikes world. But before she swaps the off-road bicycle for road special, there is one more race on her schedule - the World Championships in Andorra.

"In less than a week I will be competing in my last MTB world championship, but also in my last MTB race. To be honest, it feels a bit strange to write that, but I am happy and at peace with my decision, because I have a new goal and a new challenge on the road," writes the French all-rounder on her Instagram.

Ferrand-Prévot already indicated earlier this year that she would stop mountain biking. With her gold medal at the Olympic Games in her home country, there was no more motivation for the INEOS Grenadiers rider to continue in the discipline.

The French rider will focus on the road insteda at Visma | Lease a Bike. "I have a nice project that will help me to focus on the Tour de France Femmes in the coming years. I have now won Olympic gold, but I still have some goals," she said after the Games. Next year, she'll attempt to add Tour de France Femmes to her already impressive palmares.
