Tom Pidcock's return to cyclocross already has a date

Tom Pidcock has become cyclocross World Champion last year in Fayetteville. As was the case with Marianne Vos, both have ended their season in the USA, and focused on the road season ahead, and have delayed debuting their new rainbow jerseys.

Whilst Vos has returned to cyclocross at the Nacht van Woerden, Pidcock has kept recovering from a long season which also included stints in MTB. Now, he is ready to return to the field, and it will be at the Superprestige Merksplas on the 19th of November that the Briton will debut his rainbow jersey.

As was the case last season, Pidcock is having a late start to the season. In 2021-2022 however he started in late December in Boom, however as he will not be focusing on any cups or the European championships, his objective is clear that it will be the World Championships in Hoogerheide that he will target. Mathieu van der Poel and Wout van Aert are yet to begin their seasons.

“I'm not sure yet whether I will contest the Cyclo-cross World Championships," Pidcock said after the Tour de France presentation last week. "If you cross every year in the winter, it's tough. I'm definitely going to cross, but I don't know how much yet. I also want to be well prepared for the road season."
