Fem van Empel emerges victorious against Puck Pieterse at World Cup Benidorm

Fem van Empel emerged victorious at the UCI World Cup Benidorm, defeating Puck Pieterse to claim the win.

Puck Pieterse had a good start, Fem van Empel and Shirin van Anrooij were close behind. Lucinda Brand's race was impeded by a crash and she was unable to close the gap to the lead group.

Pieterse and Van Empel briefly separated themselves from the competition, but Persico and Van Anrooij soon caught up and formed a group of four at the front. Vos, the world champion, was having an off day and was unable to keep up with the leaders.

The ultimate competition to determine the winner ultimately boiled down to a head-to-head battle between Van Empel and Pieterse. Fem van Empel came out on top and secured the win. Puck Pieterse took the silver. Shirin van Anrooij finished third.
