The riders of the Cross Team Legendre will not be in action for their team this winter. Legendre, the main sponsor, has terminated the contract, meaning there is not enough funding for the 2023-2024 cyclo-cross winter. The riders are now looking for a solution themselves.
The financial problems have ensured that the Cross Team Legendre has not applied for a license for the upcoming cyclocross winter. Crossers like Timon Rüegg and Loris Rouiller, but also the Belgian Kenay De Moyer are therefore temporarily without a team. However, the team does plan to continue as a continental team from 2024 and then also maintain a cyclocross branch. However, this will not be possible with the ten riders who rode cyclocross last season, but with five cross riders.
"It is of course a difficult situation for us," says rider Gilles Mottiez to WielerFlits. "I am glad that the team has not been completely disbanded and that there is still hope for next season. So what will I do this winter? I am now looking for sponsors to make sure I have good equipment to race with. That way I could be at the start of a number of competitions this winter."
