Wout van Aert enjoys "unique experience" at Royal Antwerp FC

Having been enjoying a short break, Wout van Aert will soon make his return to cyclocross in Essen next Saturday. Last weekend though, the Belgian was given some special treatment whilst watching Royal Antwerp FC.

Self-admittedly not a massive football fan, van Aert nevertheless thoroughly enjoyed himself watching the game in which Antwerp triumphed 1-0 over OH Leuven, courtesy of a goal from Michel-Ange Balikwisha.

"Am I a supporter of Antwerp? A little bit," van Aert told Sporza. "We are of course involved as a sponsor. And I got a super nice sweater here with my name on it."

"This is a unique experience. It is the first time ever that I have been allowed to kick off," continued the Jumbo-Visma superstar. ''My football knowledge is limited. If you start asking me difficult questions, I'm going to freak out. I can enjoy getting a taste of the atmosphere."
