Wout van Aert announces he is to become a father for the second time

Wout van Aert has taken to social media to announce the brilliant news that he and his partner Sarah De Bie are expecting a new addition to the family this summer.

With the pair having welcomed their first child, Georges into the world in 2021, the Belgian cycling superstar will now once again be hearing the pitter-patter of little feet as little Georges becomes a big brother.

This wonderful news will no doubt lessen the blow that the 28-year-old van Aert will have felt having lost out to longtime rival Mathieu van der Poel in a thrilling finish at the recent Cyclocross World Championship in Hoogerheide.

With the newest member of the van Aert family due to arrive this summer, cycling fans' attention will be drawn to whether or not the Jumbo-Visma riders preparation for the Tour de France and the Road World Championships in Glasgow will be effected.
