"We still have to get used to each other, some things have to be improved" - Cees Bol on Astana debut

After a 7th-placed finish for Cees Bol on his debut for the Astana Qazaqatan Team in a sprint finish at the Saudi Tour, the Dutchman admitted he and his new teammates weren't quite a well-oiled machine as of yet.

“With one and a half kilometres to go, we lost some positions on a roundabout," the 27-year-old former Team DSM sprinter revealed in a post-race interview. "That cost me a top result, but a seventh place on the first day is okay."

As could probably be expected in a first race with a new team, Bol and his Astana compatriots weren't always on the same wavelength. These things take time, something that Bol is more than aware of and willing to devote time to improving. "We still have to get used to each other, some things have to be improved. But we are going to work on that,” he says.
