Stage three of the
Tour of Britain was an awful day out for most riders, with pouring rain severely affecting the stage. It was not an easier day in the convoy behind however, as two team cars collided due to the rain and the tough conditions of the British roads.
In a video caught by a spectator, it is possible to see a team car already present in the side of the road on a fast right-hand corner. It's possible to see other cars drive through at high speed so as to keep up with the peloton, but the wet roads caused the car from Saint Piran to slide out in the corner and head out of the road in the same spot. Although there was a very small collision, any meaningful damage was avoided.
The tough conditions favoured the breakaway, as Sport Vlaanderen's Kamiel Bonneu stormed to a very important win in Sunderland, with Benjamin Perry taking over the race lead - an incredibly important result for WiV SunGod
