The Dutch team were not clear on what happened exactly but it is rumoured that Jan Tratnik has gotten hurt in a knee today. An incident took place during the final training ride ahead of the Giro d'Italia and the Slovenian is at risk of missing the race.
Jumbo have lost three riders this week due to Covid-19: Tobias Foss, Robert Gesink and Jos van Emden. Although Primoz Roglic remains in the race, many riders around him and in his support block are leaving the plans to race the Corsa Rosa. Further updates on Tratnik's situation are expected later.

UPDATE: Jumbo-Visma have now confirmed what was feared. Jan Tratnik was victim of a traffic accident this morning whilst out on a training ride, it is said that a car stopped on the road and he could not avoid impact. After a visit to a local hospital it has been deemed impossible for him to take to the start tomorrow.
Thomas Gloag, who has recently raced the Tour de Romandie, will be filling in for the Slovenian. It will be the Grand Tour debut for the young Briton, who will have a role just as important in the mountains. Tratnik is the fourth Jumbo-Visma rider to be pulled out of the race this week before it even began.
