Team DSM confirm interest in signing top sprinter: "We don't have the finisher yet"

Team DSM have a growing reputation as a team that is developing stars for the future. According to team boss Iwan Spekenbrink however, there is a keen interest from the team to bring in a top quality sprinter.

The likes of Andreas Leknessund, Oscar Onley, Max Poole and Alberto Dainese have all seen good progression in their developments and had their reputations improve over the course of this year. "We also have riders who we see as a finisher for the future and who we certainly don't want to let go," says Spekenbrink. "So we very consciously set it down for the long term at an early stage."

DSM don't just want to be a developmental team though, they are also keen to compete at the highest level with riders of the utmost quality.

“It is true that we are currently looking at a sprinter who can certainly achieve victories. We can put down a great sprint train, but we don't have the finisher yet," continues Spekenbrink. "Top sprinters also see that our riders always deliver our sprinter to the place where they themselves are or would have liked to be. can bring both a lot. But in the context of that pure top sports experience; with seasoned riders, young riders and all other professionals who want to get better with great pleasure, want to keep learning and get the most out of themselves."
