The women's
Jumbo-Visma team has reinforced itself with several names this winter, seeing the signing of Nienke Veenhoven, Rosita Reijnhout and Maud Oudeman as local riders who will be joining the ranks with high expectations for the long-term future.
Rutger Tijssen, sports technical manager at the women's Jumbo-Visma team, has said in a press release: "These talents have proven in the juniors that they can do well across various courses. The only expectation we have initially from Nienke, Rosita and Maud is that they will be on a development curve."
The team has also signed cyclocross superstar Fem van Empel who is currently dominating the season off-road, and will be joining the team carrying very high ambitions of thriving in the classics and Grand Tours in the future, together with Marianne Vos - who is from the exact same town of the 20-year old.
Team manager Esra Tromp revalidated the team's beliefs: "Team Jumbo-Visma believes that success must be earned rather than purchased," perhaps hinting at the strategy deployed by INEOS Grenadiers who have signed Pauline Ferrand-Prévot as their first female athlete. "We have the necessary personnel, materials, and expertise to allow talent to excel. We must be patient, but I have big hopes for the new girls. We have a solid enough basis to compete in World Tour events and win," she concluded.
