Sean Quinn wins Coppi e Bartali second stage

EF Education-EasyPost rider Sean Quinn has won the second stage of the Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali. He launched an attack in the final kilometre and beat Mauro Schmid to secure the win. Walter Calzoni completed the podium.

Florian Lipowitz, James Fouché, Emanuele Ansaloni, Veljko Stojnić, and Marco Murgano broke away from the peloton. They worked together and increased their lead to more than 5 and a half minutes.

The first rider to drop out of the breakaway was Murgano. Lipowitz and Stojnic then separated themselves from the other two and built a 1-minute and 24-second advantage with 40 kilometres left. Eventually, the peloton caught up with the breakaway group 12 kilometres before the finish line.

Gianluca Brambilla attacked with 3 km to go and created a lead of 10 seconds. Sean Quinn counterattacked and crossed the finish line first to secure victory for himself. Mauro Schmid finished second, and Walter Calzoni completed the podium.
