Quick-Step extend with Julian Alaphilippe's right-hand man

Dries Devenyns does not intend to give up cycling anytime soon. The Belgian rider has extended his contract with the Soudal-Quick Step for one more season. This will be his 12th consecutive year with Patrick Lefevere's team.

Devenyns has been a crucial part of the team for more than a decade. Even this year, he played a very important role in Remco Evenpoel’s journey to the red jersey in Vuelta a Espana. "As always, Dries goes through fire for the team. He has a great mentality, and his experience is essential for the other riders. He knows how to keep calm when needed, has a great personality and always remains level-headed. It is a pleasure that we can count on him again in 2023," said Lefevere.

As for Devenyns, he is equally satisfied with the extension. "Of course, I'm already looking forward to next season. I realize I'm still living my childhood dream. It's a dream to be able to ride for this great team. I still get motivation from building up my fitness, riding a good race, working well with my teammates and competing for victories. It's also really nice to work with the same people for so long and that friendship are built that way," concluded Devenyns.
