On May 18th, the peloton will race a sprinter-friendly classic in the Netherlands. The
Veenendaal-Veenendaal Classic, a prestigious one-day event, consistently attracts top sprinters, and this year promises to be no different. Here's a
preview of the upcoming race.
The 171-kilometer long race is not one where endurance will matter much, and neither will climbing abilities. It is a day for the sprinters on a five-lap circuit around the town of Veenendaal; where there are two small hilltops that open the possibility for attacks but the rest of the route is completely flat.
