Oier Lazkano will not be able to compete in the Glasgow World Championships due to the crash he suffered in the Prueba Villafranca, a meaningful loss for the Spanish national team who counted on the Movistar Team rider to perform in both events.
He will be replaced in both the road race and the time trial by Xabier Mikel Azparren, the 24-year-old rider from Euskaltel-Euskadi, an unexpected change which sees the team with one less card to chase a result.
