No Tour of Flanders for Arnaud De Lie this year: "Don't forget: he is still only 20 years old"

Despite an impressive start to the season for young Belgian starlet, Arnaud De Lie, Lotto Dstny are refusing to divert from their pre planned calendar. This means there will be no Tour des Flanders for De Lie in 2023.

"I don't think it's a good idea to change his program," Maxime Monfort, Lotto Dstny's performance manager explains to Het Laatste Nieuws. “Because in the run-up to the Tour he will ride other important races that, if he were to start in Bruges, he would inevitably have to cancel.”

So with Tour des Flandres set to be absent from De Lie's racing calendar this spring, where do Lotto Dstny plan to let loose one of the pelotons rising stars? "Paris-Roubaix follows one week after Flanders and the fatigue threatens to pile up in function of one of his big spring goals," says Monfort.

"Don't forget: he is still only 20 years old," he continues. "So no, I don't think it will. At the moment it is not provided."
