Netflix Tour de France documentary dropping globally on the 8th of June

The Netflix documentary going behind the scenes of the 2022 Tour de France is set to be available worldwide through the streaming service on the 8th of June, the race's official Twitter account has revealed.

Titles 'Le Tour de France Unchained', the fly-on-the-wall Netflix series is set to be in a similar vein to the platforms' other behind-the-scenes documentaries on various sports, such as 'Formula 1: Drive to Survive'. The most well-known cycling race to casual fans, the Tour de France is the perfect way to bring more attention to the sport and create more fans.

Of course, the 2022 Tour de France had no shortage of drama either as Jonas Vingegaard dethroned Tadej Pogacar to claim the Yellow Jersey, Tom Pidcock announced himself at Grand Tour level with a brilliant win atop Alpe d'Huez and many other dramatic, edge of the seat moments.

On June 8th we will all now be able to view the race like never before as we're taken on the team bus prior to stages and in the team car as sporting directors start to feel the pressure. "21 stages. 176 riders. One aim. The Maillot Jaune," the official announcement reads. "Through sun, rain, valleys and mountains, follow the riders as they tackle the greatest cycling race on Earth. Le Tour de France Unchained : Coming globally on Netflix, June 8th."
