The last mountain stage of the
Tour de France was not so good for
Nairo Quintana. He finished in the 13th position.
He has been giving his best thorough the tour, but the rider has yet to win a stage .“I have given everything. When it is given, everything is given. We gave everything, and it is what it is. They were not the best feelings, really. I was a little short of breath. I don't want to say that it's an excuse for what happened," Quintana told ESPN.
He continues, “We worked until the end, we have done a great Tour de France. Payment for so many wear days are sometimes given on days like today. It was a very fast race. The teammates did everything too”, said Quintana.
He also lost his fourth position in GC to
David Gaudu. He now aims to finish the tour by at least remaining in the top 10 in overall. “We are still in a good position, and we hope to set a correct time trial. We were there, among the top ten on the Tour”, concluded Quintana.
