The fifth stage of the Tour de France saw a chaotic day as several riders crashed and suffered mechanicals in the treacherous cobbled sectors, and many suffered due to the tension and furious run-ups to each sector. This was today's medical report:
(11) Primoz Roglic - Multiple bruises. Continued the race.
(161) Caleb Ewan - Various road rashes and slight concussion. Continued the race.
(81) Jack Haig - Left elbow wound and significant road rash over the entire back. Evacuated to Valenciennes hospital.
(103) Michael Gogl - Trauma to the right shoulder, right elbow and right hip. Evacuated to Valenciennes hospital.
Many other falls on the cobbled sectors without gravity.
