FDJ-SUEZ-Futuroscope rider
Marta Cavalli is finally ready join the peloton after a long break. The 24-year-old Italian had to rehabilitate for a long time after a collision in the
Tour de France Femmes. She will make her appearance in the
Giro dell'Emilia Internazionale Donne.
At the end of July, Cavalli crashed during the second stage of the Tour de France Femmes. It appeared that the Italian would escape at first, but she was then impacted by the Australian Nicole Frain of Parkhotel-Valkenburg and crashed hard into the asphalt. It took Cavalli a long time to recover from a concussion and a back trauma. Aside from that, she was not able to attend the Wollongong World Cup.
But dark days are behind her Cavalli as she is ready to make her way back to the peloton. The Italian will be present at the starting line for Giro dell'Emilia on Saturday. She has already won Amstel Gold Race and the Flèche Wallonne earlier this season. She was in good form before her crash and secured second place in the Giro d'Italia Donne.
