Marianne Vos returns to competition at Trofeo Alfredo Binda after recovery

Team Jumbo Visma's rider Marianne Vos is all set to rejoin the peloton. Following surgery in February to address a narrowing of her pelvic artery, the Dutch rider has made a full recovery and is now set to compete in the upcoming Trofeo Alfredo Binda event on Sunday.

“The treatment went well, and as hoped I was able to get back on the bike ten days later and resume training. Now the first road race is just around the corner,” she described on Jumbo Visma’s website.

The Italian race will be the first competition of the season for her. “It is a race that I like to ride. The first game of the season always brings some extra jitters. I am looking forward to starting this race with the team,” she said.

In 2019, she took home the trophy at Trofeo Alfredo Binda, where she outperformed Amanda Spratt and Cecilie Uttrup Ludwig. “Of course, there are also some nice races later this year on the program, but the focus, for now, is mainly on the spring races. I feel like going for a nice race,” she concluded.
