Team Jayco AlUla has revealed their lineup for the upcoming edition of Paris-Nice, with Australian National Champion, Luke Plapp set to be given his chance at mounting a general classification challenge.
“It’s been a great little block, starting in Australia and then having a good few weeks up on the volcano in Tenerife. I’m really excited to race my first Paris-Nice and ride with a few new boys on the team. It will be my first time riding with Dylan Groenewegen and his leadout crew and I’m also really looking forward to mixing it with Chris Harper on the climbs. I think we have a super strong team for this week," previews Plapp in conversation Team Jayco AlUla's official website.
With Plapp and Groenewegen combining, the team holds ambitions on multiple fronts. "The plan for the race will be to try and win some sprints with Dylan and be up there as high as possible on the GC with both myself and Chris," Plapp explains. "It’ll be my first stage race of the year, I didn’t get to finish the Tour Down Under due to a crash, so I’m really looking forward to getting through it and seeing how the work has been going up on the volcano and what kind of shape I’m in.”
Team Jayco AlUla for 2024 Paris-Nice:
Luke Plapp, Dylan Groenewegen, Chris Harper, Michael Matthews, Luke Durbridge, Elmar Reinders and Luka Mezgec.
