Luis León Sánchez is one of the veterans of the peloton, being a pro rider since 2004 and looking to expand on his career with another change of teams as it is said he could be joining Astana Qazaqstan this coming season.
The report came from Italian news source TuttoBiciWeb who talk of the possibility of a return to the team the Spaniard represented from 2015 to 2021. Sánchez has over these years had a domestique role within the team, aswell as some freedom to hunt stages and hilly races which is a format that the Kazakh team follow to this day.
The 38-year old has a contract until 2023 however it is said this is an obstacle that can be overcome. Sánchez has recently shown great form as he rode aggressively during the Tour de France and went on to finish a surprising 14th place in the absence of Jack Haig and the lack of form from Damiano Caruso.
