Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team will be taking to the start of Dwars door Vlaanderen with the ambition of taking a strong result that will overcome the so far below par spring the team has had. With several cards to play, they will come in as one of the main teams into the Belgian race.
“The course has completely changed, and it will be a hectic one, with a lot of climbing and narrow roads. We could still have a big group going to the finish line, but we are also sure that attacks will happen," Team DS Tom Steels said. Despite some rough bergs, the race has relatively flat final 40 kilometers and doesn't feature significant climbs where differences can be made. Fabio Jakobsen is setting off as team leader, with Zdenek Stybar and Yves Lampaert as possible cards to play aswell.
In the lineup, Tim Declercq is making his return earlier than expected as he has recovered after a Pericarditis: "We are happy to have Tim back after his illness, he trained hard and we can’t wait to see him in the race again. Also Yves is on an upward trajectory, he showed that last Sunday, so overall we are confident we can do a good race”,
Quick-Step Alpha Vinyl Team for Dwars door Vlaanderen: Fabio Jakobsen, Tim Declercq, Stijn Steels, Jannik Steimle, Zdenek Stybar, Yves Lampaert and Bert van Lerberghe.
