Iuri Leitao has emerged victorious on stage 2 of the 2023 CRO Race after proving the quickest in a powerful bunch sprint finale.
After four riders formed the day's breakaway, INEOS Grenadiers, working in aid of overall race leader and stage 1 winner, Elia Viviani, kept the time gap relatively tight.
With just over 20km to go, they were all back together and focus was turned once again to preparing for a bunch sprint finale. In the sprint, there was a surprising winner as Caja Rural-Seguros RGA's leadout man Iuri Leitao took the win ahead of Viviani and Alexander Kristoff.
