"It's always nice when you can win, but I don't think I can really improve any further" -Jenthe Biermans reflects on his best season

For Jenthe Biermans, the 2023 season was the best year of his career. He looks back with pride on his debut year at Arkéa-Samsic, in which he achieved two victories. The 28-year-old Biermans is still ambitious, but also a bit down to earth in an interview with WielerFlits.

"Beautiful year, I have two victories in my career and I achieved both of them this year," he beams, thinking back to the Muscat Classic in Oman and his stage victory in the Tour of Luxembourg. "In that respect it was a fantastic year, my best season. I am very, very satisfied. I had always hoped to win a race one day, so that is very nice. I feel very good in the team."

In 2024, the team will change its name, but the ambitions are just as great. Biermans wants to continue his current trend, but knows that he has reached his ceiling. "It's always nice when you can win or ride in the final for a long time, but I don't know if I can really improve on this," he is self-critical.

"I realize that I can really compete in smaller competitions, but I fall short in larger competitions. There is no shame in knowing that yourself. With the reinforcements of Florian Sénéchal and Arnaud Démare within the team, I hope that I can play an important role in the classics."
