"It's a shame for the result but it was good teamwork" - BORA - hansgrohe unable to make the numbers count at Milano - Torino

Despite having the numbers advantage in the finale at Milano - Torino 2024, BORA - hansgrohe couldn't quite complete the catch of lone leader Alberto Bettiol.

After burning through their matches in an attempt to bring back the Italian, BORA were forced to settle for 7th overall through Emil Herzog as they were beaten in the sprint for the remainder of the podium places behind Bettiol.

"We had Emil in the group who is quite fast and pulled for him. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to close the gap," reflected former Liege - Bastogne - Liege and Tour de France stage winner, Bob Jungels in his post-race interview.

Despite missing out on the podium, Jungels was upbeat post-race and positive about the future prospects of his team. "It's a shame for the result but it was good teamwork," the 31-year-old from Luxembourg concludes. "It's nice for me to be part of this young group we have here. It's quite fun."
