The fight for 2nd and 3rd podium spot is still very much alive. I can't believe that Isaac and Paul caught Jonas and dropped him on sprint. I would have expected Jonas and Tadej to be on another strata from the rest. Even the gap between Remco and Jonas is smaller than what I expected by this point. Barring Tadej, this year TdF is the most competitive Tour I've ever seen among the top GC contenders. Jonas is not as out of reach as he was yesteryears.

Let's take it from the man himself. Tadej, in an interview with Velo News, heaped praises on Jonas, saying that he was impressed with his strength on the final climb, and even saying that he is wary that Jonas might even drop him at Alpe D'Huez, that he was that good. Tadej's confidence is there, but he knows he can not afford to be overconfident.

He won’t finish in 5th but there’s blood in the water and Seixas can smell it.

Tadej was very controlled today. He knows there’s a bigger stage coming up tomorrow so he had to pace his effort today, not giving it all. Tomorrow we’ll see some fireworks.

Stage 14 and there's 5 guys within a minute of JV. I think there is a good chance JV may finish around 5th place. He looks as good as these other 5 riders. And that's not good for him.
