After claiming victory at the American
National Championships last month,
EF Education-EasyPost's
Sean Quinn gets the chance to show off his new jersey alongside the likes of Primoz Roglic, Remco Evenepoel and Sepp Kuss at the 2024 Criterium du Dauphine.
A radical, stars and stripes inspired design, Quinn's new fit will certainly stand out in the peloton for the next year. "It looks nice no? I'm very proud to represent this nation and wear such a nice jersey at the Dauphine," says the 24-year-old,
who triumphed ahead of Brandon McNulty and Neilson Powless in Charleston to take the title in May.
Competing in the Criterium du Dauphine for the third time in his career, Quinn has a strong chance to impress ahead of the upcoming Tour de France at the end of the month. "It's a pretty open race here so, we'd like to win a stage with the team," the American previews of the upcoming week of racing in France. "If we can do our best every day and maybe try to do something in the general classification, we'll take it day by day."
"But I think we have a strong team and some ambitious guys," the EF Education-EasyPost rider concludes. "I had a bad race on Wednesday (Mercan'Tour Classic ed.) but sometimes that happens in cycling and you don't really know why. It can be a knock to the morale but I've been training well for the last two months and you don't lose all your form in one week so I'm confident for this week."
Having made just the one Grand Tour appearance in his career to date, at the 2023 Vuelta a Espana, as mentioned Quinn could force selection for the upcoming Tour de France with a good performance this week, getting the chance to show off the stars and stripes to the biggest cycling audience of the year in the process.
