"If I felt the strongest today? Not at all!" - Lenny Martinez makes it three out of three for Groupama - FDJ at Tour du Doubs

With four victories in mid-April, Lenny Martinez can rightfully be seen as one of the most successful riders of the first third of 2024 season. Atypically for a climber though, all of Martinez's victories this year came in one-day races, with three of them on his home (French) turf.

After his second personal victory this week at Tour du Doubs, the third for his team, the Groupama - FDJ rider had a reason to smile. "I especially remember the team's third victory, we made it three out of three this weekend. I'm so proud of the team, we really did a great job. The goal was already to win one of the three, but this is really incredible," begins Martinez in his interview for Cyclism'Actu afterwards.

"If I felt the strongest today? Not at all! Honestly, I didn't feel good the whole race. After the neutralization, my legs didn't respond very well," Martinez confided. "But on the last climb, it got better and better as we got closer to the line."

What's next for the young French climber? "I'm going to go to the Tour de Romandie, with the ambition to do the best possible, and why not achieve victories and a good place in the general classification," he concludes.
