"I would prefer 1:10 in front" - Primoz Roglic in good mood ahead of freezing Paris-Nice stage despite having a lot of time to recover

15th in the overall classification is where Primoz Roglic stands in Paris-Nice currently, a position which doesn't give him much of an option to remain conservative today, unlike several other riders have hinted towards because of the difficult weather conditions.

"Almost having skis weather. It is how it is we'll see how we'll go," the BORA - hansgrohe leader said this morning. The cold does not seem to have gotten him downbeat and thinking of surviving today, and this very much isn't a great option for Roglic who came into the race as the main favourite alongside Remco Evenepoel. A team time-trial under unlucky weather conditions led to a lot of time lost, and at Mont Brouilly he didn't show his best legs.

He starts the sixth day of racing 1:10 minutes behind race leader Luke Plapp. "I would prefer 1:10 in front but I take it the way it is," he jokes. Today's steep climbs could prove to be his launchpad into the Top10, although the weekend still presents two difficult days where differences are possible.

"Like I said maybe the results will show everything. Focus on the day and take it day by day, we'll see what we can do until Sunday," he concludes. The German team is one of the few today that will be under pressure to perform, as Aleksandr Vlasov also sits far from the Top10 at the time being.
