Pavel Sivakov wrapped up his season in style with a strong performance at Il Lombardia, finishing in sixth place as his teammate, Tadej Pogačar, claimed victory for the fourth consecutive time at the prestigious monument.

Sivakov, a key rider for UAE Team Emirates, has been an essential teammate to Pogačar throughout the season, especially during the Tour de France. His consistent performances have been vital to the team's success, and his personal results have been equally impressive. Sivakov finished ninth at the Vuelta a España and also delivered a strong showing at the World Championships in Zurich.

On Saturday at Il Lombardia, Sivakov played a crucial role in supporting Pogačar, particularly on the Colma del Sormano climb. After doing his work for his leader, the French rider had enough strength left to pursue his own ambitions in the final 48 kilometers, eventually securing a solid sixth-place finish.

"In this final part of the season I feel great and I asked the team to do this Lombardy before going to China. I am very motivated and I think that in the final part of the season the mental aspect plays a big role," he reflected afterwards. "Personally, I am very satisfied with this first season of mine. I never gave up today. I wanted to fight for the podium. I felt I had great legs and I managed to get back alone on Mas and Van Eetvelt. Behind me I don't know how it went, who was pulling or what, but Ciccone was tactically perfect and in the final climb he surprised us . In the descent then I didn't want to risk it. I am very satisfied with my level."

It was a fitting end to the season for Sivakov, who has proven his reliability as both a dedicated teammate and a strong contender in his own right. With performances like these, he remains a key asset to UAE Team Emirates as they look ahead to future victories.
