How a World Tour pro has become the king of Caribbean local racing

Former UAE Team Emirates rider Alexys Brunel announced his abandon from pro cycling recently, however he has been on the bike and racing with quite a lot of success ever since.

At only 23 years of age, Brunel's announcement came as a shock to many. He decided to step away from professional cycling, but has not stopped racing competitively. He justified his decision stating that "it is time to turn a page and focus on new challenges and experiences in life," and that has become the local French circuit.

Brunel signed a contract with the U.S Lamentin team and has since raced the GP ASC Madiana where he won, the Tour de Marie Galante and is currently leading the Tour de Guadeloupe. Brunel has been competing in the French island specifically, where he has returned to his winning ways as a leading figure in the local circuit.
