The vibe is high for Saturday's road races✌️ #Wollongong2022
The Australian team has delivered a praise-worthy performance in the UCI World Championships, and the Women’s team is equally responsible for the feat. Grace Brown, who recently secured the silver in ITT, is on the spot light ahead of the Road race on the 25th of September.
"It definitely gives me a lot of confidence in my form at the moment," Brown said. Her podium position in the time trial is a significant boost for her confidence in the Road race. "Obviously, being a good time triallist doesn't necessarily mean that you've got road race form. But yeah, I've also been training for the road race specifically, so I can still be confident that my form will translate across."
Some riders feel tired after a single race, but Brown is not one of them. She still has the energy to compete against the best in the world and give her best for the team. "I'm feeling pretty good… It's actually been quite a long week between the time trial and road race. I'm eager for race day now,” said Brown.
Her teammate, Sarah Roy, is confident about Brown getting at least a podium, if not the victory. "With all those things together, though, we can be quite confident and go in with a really positive and excited attitude.
I think because we are all really experienced, we have a great strategy. There's nothing left to do now except to get a good night's sleep and just rock off and do our thing. I think we're ready to go."
