Giacomo Nizzolo overcomes Arnaud de Lie to take Tro-Bro Leon victory

Giacomo Nizzolo has overcome Arnaud de Lie to take victory at the 2023 edition of Tro-Bro Leon with Nils Eekhoff in third.

One of the most brutal and unique races in the calendar. The French race is 205 kilometers in distance and throughout the entire distance except for the first hour there are plenty of gravel sectors. In total 37 sectors, with the second third of the route completely packed.

The Israel-Premier Tech sprinter took victory in the chaos of the gravel. Only Arnaud de Lie, Clement Venturini, Nils Eekhoff, Eddy Fine and Rasmus Tiller were left alone on the last stretch of dirt. Giacomo Nizzolo and Laurent Pichon came from behind. Numerous attacks in the last two kilometres that were caught again and again by a tremendous de Lie. However he paid for the effort against the Italian sprinter in the final arrival.
