Germany will try to surprise at World Championship with a group of rouleurs

Germany will line up to the World Championships in a role of underdogs who will try to anticipate by animating the race early on and jumping into late moves. In fact, it is difficult to imagine who will be the captain, with John Degenkolb who could bet on the sprint of a small group, while Nils Politt and Maximilian Schachmann will try to attack from afar.

Currently riding the 2023 Tour de France, Degenkolb is racing mostly in support of the captains, but if he were to regain his Paris-Roubaix legs he could become an interesting prospect.

Germany for World Championship:
John Degenkolb, Nils Politt (also ITT), Maximilian Schachmann, Jonas Rutsch, Michel Hessmann, Nico Denz and Lennard Kämna (only ITT)

Neither of the two time trialists will be part of the in the mixed relay, where Maximilian Walscheid, Miguel Heidemann and Jannik Staimle will make their appearances.
