Former Fleche Wallonne winner Dylan Teuns strengthens Cofidis into next seasons

With Dylan Teuns, Cofidis gains a strong leader for classics as well as a rider capable of winning Grand Tour stages. The 32-year-old rider will bring a lot of experience for spring campaign, aiming to win a monument in Cofidis colours on a two-year deal.

"Cédric Vasseur was one of the first managers to take an interest in me this year," Teuns opens up in a press communication about what appealed to him at Cofidis, "he contacted me very early in the season. His project interested me and the great history of Cofidis was also a source of motivation."

As winner of La Fleche Wallonne in 2022, Teuns would love to become the next Belgian to win a monument in Cofidis jersey, following in footsteps of compatriot Franck Vandenbroucke. "Vandenbroucke is the last person to have won a monument with Cofidis (Liège-Bastogne-Liège, 1999) and I want to do everything so that we can aim for a podium in this type of race."

With many departures (Martin, Zingle) ahead of new season, there seems to be a slight concern about Cofidis roster depth, but that doesn't seem to be an issue according to Teuns: "I know that we will be able to present a very strong team to achieve this objective. I have always given my all. I know the pleasure you feel when you are in the lead, when you are well placed in the finish. These are sensations that I can't wait to experience again with Cofidis!"
