"Extreme position"on time-trial bike a problem for Primoz Roglic following shoulder operation

Primoz Roglic has in the past had many issues with his shoulders, frequently dislocating them in crashes. This winter he's undergone an operation to prevent that, but he admits he's had issues on his time-trial bike as a result.

It was a surgery in which he's removed a piece of bone which was then moved to the spot where the dislocation happened. This had him off the bike for considerable time, but was a decision thinking of his long-term future, both off and on the bike. However he's back on the road and on track, but not without an inconvenience from the operation - which is yet to be known if it's temporary or not.

“After my operation, it was a little more difficult for me to sit on the TT bike because I have an extreme position. Now I can do it normally. Ahead of the Giro, I will devote as much time as possible," he told RTV on his preparation ahead of the Corsa Rosa.

The Slovenian is a surprise addition to Jumbo-Visma's Tirreno-Adriatico lineup, a last minute change which sees him change the initial plan which only included the Volta a Catalunya. Ahead of the Giro d'Italia which he will be focusing on, he will have opportunities to test himself in all kinds of terrain including the time-trials.
