Enric Mas sees crash put Critérium du Dauphiné ambitions under risk

Enric Mas has not been having a pleasant season so far, with several crashes derailing his major objectives before the Grand Tours. He took a tumble during the fifth stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné, and consequences are yet to be completely assessed - until the riders go into the mountains.

Movistar Team said after the stage that "he has no major injuries from his fall, but he does have a strong blow to his left shoulder, apart from the bruises on his side." Mas crashed with 104 kilometers to go on the day and has ridden the rest of the stage with bandages over his shoulder on the left side.

After crashing out of Tirreno-Adriatico contention with similar consequences whilst finishing the queen stage, Mas sees himself once again harmed by the consequences of his falls. The injuries seem however light, and the Spaniard shouldn't have a too tense day tomorrow where he'll be able to recover towards the weekend. Mas sits 13th in the GC after five days of racing.
