Dylan Groenewegen narrowly miss GP de Fourmies victory, but satisfied with final result - "I'm happy with the result, We did a good job as a team today"

Dylan Groenewegen had to face defeat in the GP de Fourmies on Sunday as Caleb Ewan sprinted to victory. He is happy with second place and has no complaints about the result.

"I started my sprint too early," said Groenewegen. There was a big crash just three kilometers from the finish, and Groenewegen’s teammates were also involved, with cost him the final support. "We did a good job as a team today, but unfortunately, we lost some riders in the crash with three kilometers to go."

He somehow managed to avoid the crash and maintain his speed, but he attacked too early and couldn’t hold the lead till the end. "Luckily, I was well in front when the peloton broke up. In the end, I started my sprint too early, but it was the best option at the time. That's why I'm happy with the result,” concluded Groenewegen.
